Husk Brooms
Hand-tied brooms and brushes of broomcorn and driftwood from Pittsburgh
About Husk Brooms
Husk Brooms is Tia Tumminello's Pittsburgh broom studio, launched in 2023 after she began making brooms in 2021. She ties brooms and brushes by hand without machinery, using broomcorn she grows herself and with local farmers, and handles cut from branches and Lake Erie driftwood. Her line runs from hand brooms and cobweb brooms to shell and palm-fiber brushes. She teaches regular broom-making workshops around Pittsburgh, and studio visits are by appointment.
