Ex Libris Fibers
Book-inspired, small-batch hand-dyed yarns from a Pittsburgh dyer
About Ex Libris Fibers
Ex Libris Fibers is a Pittsburgh hand-dyeing business run by Rita Johnson, a former librarian with an arts background. She dyes yarn in small batches, with layered, moody colorways that mostly take their names from books, libraries and little-known history, and she chooses blends meant to avoid pooling and flashing. The colorways have been in release since at least 2018. Yarn is sold online, through limited seasonal releases such as a Halloween countdown calendar, and wholesale to yarn shops.
