Second Season
Fleece-lined mittens sewn from recycled wool sweaters near State College
About Second Season
Second Season is a family business near State College that turns thrifted wool sweaters into fleece-lined mittens. Susan Wise designs and sews, and family members find, cut and launder the sweaters. Each pair combines pieces of two or three sweaters, so no two match. The family also makes cashmere fingerless mitts and custom 'memory' mittens from a customer's own keepsake sweater, and sells mostly at craft shows.
