American Archtop Guitars
Hand-carved archtop guitars and guitar-building workshops in a Nazareth shop

About American Archtop Guitars
Dale Unger has built guitars since 1977 and trained under archtop maker Robert Benedetto before launching the American Archtop line in 1996. He hand-builds a small number of custom archtop guitars each year, and electric models are sold under the Unger Instrument Company name. Dale and his son Tyler run the Nazareth Guitar Institute in a converted early-1900s church, where students build their own archtop, flat-top or electric guitars.
